The Painting’s Story:
I have a LOVE of things black & white, whether I’m painting or buying someone else’s artwork. This painting was inspired by one of my million photographs I’ve taken at Botany Bay on Edisto Island, SC at Sunrise. Every year we visit, I get up and am waiting at the gate of the property early in the morning. Once the gate opens 30 minutes before sunrise, you drive about 10 minutes down a dusty dirt road and park to the beach access, which then you have to traverse about a half mile on foot to get to the ocean. It’s one of my favorite places in the world, and is so eerily beautiful!
